Gilhooly Award
Michael Romkey of the Barley House Band is presented the Bernard A. Gilhooly Award by Kelly Gilhooly of Davenport during Irish Heritage Day on Sunday, March 16, at Isle of Capri in Bettendorf. Every year the award is presented to someone who promotes Irish culture. The St. Patrick Society cited his energies and efforts to expand Irish music through venues such as the River City Radio Hour, iTunes podcasts and the Barley House Band as having a positive influence in the preservation of Irish music.
